BISFT has run bi-annual Summer Schools since 1992, the first being held at St David’s College, Lampeter under the title ‘Women and God / Merched a Dduw’.

The next BISFT Summer School will be in July 2020.

The Summer Schools aim to provide a platform for women to share ideas and empower one another in the dissemination of these ideas.  With a full range of lectures, workshops and informal discussion groups there is space for everyone to find a voice.

The Summer Schools have proved valuable not only for the sharing of ideas but for international networking, participants have come from Canada, New Zealand, Taiwan, Japan, India and many parts of Europe and the USA.

Past Keynote speakers have included Rosemary Radford-Ruether, Elizabeth Stuart, Daphne Hampson, Monica Furlong. Kwok Pui-Lan, Musimbi Kanyoro, Marcella Athaus-Reid, Asphodel Long, Melissa Raphael and Mary Grey amongst others.

All Summer School papers are published in Feminist Theology the journal of BISFT - they appear in the May edition of the year following the Summer School.  Past editions of the journal can be obtained via Orca Journals, Stanley House, 3 Fleets Lane, Poole, Dorset BH15 3AJ.
